Jamal Bates is a Nationally Syndicated Radio Host, TV Personality, MC,
Voiceover Talent, former Law Enforcement Officer, Amazon Best Selling
Author and Pastor. Jamal’s radio career began with an internship and he
was later hired after interning at KISS FM in Columbia, SC in 2004. For
seven years, Jamal was the host of the Sunday morning Gospel program
“Rejoice” from October 2004 through May 2011. In late May 2011 Jamal
received the call that would change his life forever. In June 2011, Jamal
became the host of "Saturday Night Inspirations' ' from 6pm to 10pm on the Glory Radio Network, four radio stations in South Carolina, including
WFMV FM in Columbia, SC. In August 2013 Jamal was named the local
host of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show weekday mornings from 6am till 10am on WFMV FM. In February 2015, 'Afternoons with Jamal Bates' was born, weekday afternoons from 3pm to 7pm on the WFMV FM in Columbia SC and WTUA FM in the low country of South Carolina. After a successful run as Afternoon Host, in February 2020, Jamal walked away from his radio show to pursue another dream, a nationally syndicated radio show. During his hiatus from radio, Jamal answered his call to Pastor. In February 2021, Jamal was installed and became the 8th Pastor of Greater Carolina Baptist Church in Columbia, SC.

Shortly after in March 2021, Jamal launched 'The Jamal Bates Morning
Show' a nationally syndicated urban inspiration morning radio show. The
show can now be heard in cities across the country including Florence SC,
Anderson SC, Richmond VA, Norfolk VA, Gainesville FL and just added
Orangeburg SC weekday mornings from 6am to 10am. In April 2021, Jamal returned to WFMV FM in Columbia SC to do ‘Afternoons’ weekdays from 3pm to 7pm. In July 2021, God opened another door for Jamal, this time in Fort Wayne, IN to host “Middays with Jamal Bates” on Rhythm & Praise 94.1fm. Jamal can be heard Monday-Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
Over the span of his career, Jamal has interviewed everyone from the local
community leader to national musical acts to former first lady Hillary Clinton to President Joe Biden.

In March 2022, Jamal was named one of Radio’s African American Future
Leaders by Radio Ink Magazine. Jamal is a sought after host and speaker,
